Agent Orange Information to Share from HAMVAMC

Here at Hampton VAMC the main hospital building 4th Floor Room B-406 Environmental Health in the Compensation and Pension (C&P) area is who you need to see.  The person that is responsible for the main part of the claim process for the Agent Orange program is Mrs. Irene Hardy 757-722-9961x2637 or 2653.

Membership Eligibility Program




Whereas, Article 3, Section 301, C&BL, FRA, pertains to eligibility for membership in the FRA shall be restricted to personnel who have served or are now serving in an enlisted status in the United States Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard, regardless of length of service, including reserve components; and   

Whereas, over the last ten years the FRA members in good standing have declined from  97,776 to 45,268 and the average age of the members is 73; and  

Whereas, all of the recruiting efforts including incentives to members have added new or returning members, which have been honorable but the retention efforts have not been enough to sustain the decline in membership, which includes  member deaths and nonpayment of dues; and

Whereas, in order to assist with the growth of the FRA membership and to maintain the integrity of the Association to continue to be a viable veteran service organization for years to come there should be consideration of having enlisted veterans in all services who served honorably to  be eligible for FRA membership; now, therefore be it 

Resolved, That Article 3, Section 301, C&BL, FRA, be amended to read as follows:

Section 301. Eligibility for membership in the FRA shall be for personnel who served or are now serving in an enlisted status in the United States Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Army or Air Force, regardless of length of service, including reserve components.   

Resolved, That this amendment become effective January 1, 2018.

This is to certify that this resolution was proposed at the bi-monthly conference call of the National Committee on Membership and Retention on March 15, 2017, distributed, read, debated and adopted by majority vote through email on May 17, 2017.

LAFRA of Unit 99

Branch 99 extend an invitation to all eligible family members to join Branch 99 Auxiliary.  They will meet the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 1900, here at the Branch 99 home.  If you have any questions please contact Shipmate President Daniel Kenney (

As Treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary there are many applications for the LAFRA that are not signed by sponsor with member number and not paid.  At the next General Assembly meeting on 9 November at 7pm we are having a meeting in conjunction with the branch members.  It will be easy for you to make the necessary payment and update to the forms. Any spouse of a member who wishes to join us please come to the meeting at 7pm.  Please help us to get our Unit 99 up and running.
